I would like to be able to use the Jewish calendar in Optuma instead of the current two options under Date Scale Properties/Mode, which are Calendar and Gann. Please comment & consider installing this in your next build.
Thanks!

Hi Jeff,
Now that would be interesting.
It is months which would be the most different and since the calculation is lunisolar we would need the ephemeris to calculate. This means that the option would only be available in the Astro edition of Optuma.
Leap months also need to be considered (last one in 5779?)
It would not be a simple task, is there any information on how it has been used in markets? I’d need to know that there really is a benefit before we could do this work.
All the best
Mathew
Hi Matthew,
Thank you for your reply and consideration. See the following link on calculating the calendar, and the next one for its application in markets.

Although I am by no means an expert on either the Hebrew calendar or its use in the financial markets, I have read enough and used Optuma tools with Gregorian calendar dates that correspond with Hebrew calendar dates enough to be convinced that I want to know more, especially in light of the below link.

Let me know what you think. Thank you again for your response.

Hi Jeff,
I’m going to postpone this for a couple of months as I am under the pump to get other work done. There is no way we could get this done by the June update anymore but I am interested in exploring this, so I’ll come back to it when I have more time.
All the best
Mathew
I understand. Thank you for considering & I look forward to coming back to this soon when you have time.
Best Regards,
