Change of ticker impacts chart history

Is there any way to combine the data history when a stock changes its ticker so it is all displayed on a single chart?

At the moment, the old ticker stops on one date and the new ticker starts the day after, but it is the same stock just with a different name.

TIA, for any ideas or solutions.

Hi Piers,

That’s something that normally gets taken care of on our data servers, but this one may have been missed. If opening the chart and clicking Download History under Actions doesn’t fix the history, let us know the chart symbols and we’ll investigate.

There are 2 recent changes that don’t seem to be working, as follows:

  1. VG8 --> RG8
  2. GMA --> HLI
In fact, HLI comes up as Beauty Health Group Ltd, whereas it should be Helia Group Ltd, the new name for Genworth Mortgage Insurance.

Hello Darren,

I have come across another ticker gremlin.

Abacus Group (ABP) recently destapled and formed a new ticker ASK (Abacus Storage King) but also changed its own ticker to ABG. Optuma has this labelled as Abigroup Ltd and has merged the price history, whereas the ABP price history should be there.

Abigroup Ltd delisted back in 2004. Can you look into this please?

The historical data for ABG:ASX has been updated and your chart should automatically update with today’s download (or open the chart and click Download History to request the data manually).
