Overlaying Financial Data over Price

I am trying to overlay end of the year financial data (*.csv) over monthly price line chart of a stock but not successful in doing so, tried within knowledgebase and tutorial for clue but no luck.

Attached example End of year earnings data for CGF.ASX in CSV format that I am using as an example.

has anyone tried similar with success?

Hi Chintan,

Have you been able to open the imported data as a chart first by following these instructions?

https://help.optuma.com/kb/faq.php?id=672

Once that has been done you should be able to overlay it on the chart:

Note we provide fundamental data which is probably an easier option, which can then be plotted on a chart:

Hi Darren,

I tried formatting the data as you suggested in the first link with no success. I notice the example had the end of the day data. versus I am using end of year date (i.e. one row per year). I am planning to plot line chart and I would like to also add forecast data in addition to the past data (hence Optuma fundamental data is not option)

Attached CSV in required format I have been, the chart load blank, can you please check if it works for you, and suggest where I may need tweaking. Also did a test file with dummy end-of-day data for 5 days but it won’t load up.

Many thanks,
Chintan

Hi Darren,

I have managed to overlay EPS on Price chart (figured out that I was using one of the previously mapped folder to fetch fundamental data’s .csv file which had different time/price format set previously - felt silly once I figured it out).

However only half problem solved, as Optuma is not plotting future forecast data beyond today’s date on EPS line chart, see attached snip.

Any suggestion on how can I get around this issue much appreciated.

Chintan

Hi Chintan,

I didn’t see a screenshot attached, but overlaid data will not display beyond the last price bar. The only way I can think of would be to open the EPS data as a chart first, and then overlay the price data.
