shade the background with a color

I am new to scripting here.
Excuse my bad English.
Can I shade the background with a color, depending on the output of a script I write.
Or can I change the color of the Bars of a graphic on the output of a script I write?

Yes you can change the bar colours depending on a script formula:

To shade the background you can put the formula in a Show View tool and drag it over the price chart. Video here (from 0:55):
