I find the tolerance for the mouse position on a bar chart to be incredibly tight when I’m trying to get the popup with the price data/astro data to show. Is it possible to increase the buffer around the bar so that the mouse does not have to be positioned pixel perfectly, please?

I too have had this issue recently. Seems to be more of a problem on indicators or scripts for me ( I have difficulty getting the “pencil” to pup up for the indicator or script parameters I am trying to work with)

Hi Piers
We’ve made no changes to the way that we “pick” items as the mouse is moved. There may be a Windows setting/update at play here. I see this more as a support issue than a feature request. Can you please post this in the general Optuma forum? Then we can see if there are others experiencing the same thing.
All the best

Hi Matthew,
Just to be clear, nothing has changed since I have been using Optuma so I am not saying that a bug has been introduced, I am asking for a change as I have actually always found it fiddly to correctly poistion the mouse exactly on elements on a chart sucthe information box appears.
I will post it in the general forum too.
Thanks,

Hi Piers,
Can you please use a screen capture tool like Loom.com and create a video of what you are seeing. I want to make sure that I am understanding the issue fully. This could be a mouse setting on your PC but I will not know for sure until I see the trouble it is giving you.
All the best

Hi Piers,
Have you set the padlock on the left of the chart to close – that way the cursor will snap to the nearest bar price when the cursor is pretty close without having to be “pixel close”.
Cheers
Trevor

Hi Trevor,
Yes, the padlock is closed. The little ‘x’ that snaps to the bar is fine but the information pop up doesn’t appear until the actual mouse cursor is pixel perfect.
Hi Matthew,
I have uploaded two screen shots showing the mouse position. One has the info pop up and the other does not. You can see how close the mouse cursor is to the bar in the second image and yet the info pop up does not appear.
If the bar is drawn as, say, 5 pixels wide, it could have an invisible border that is 10 pixels wide around it that would activate the pop up when the mouse cursor is within that border.
Regards,

Hi Piers,
The way that we handle “picking” ( what we call the process of working out if the mouse is over an item) is to draw everything on an off-screen buffer. We can change what we draw on that buffer to make this work a bit better. I’m having a look at the code and will see if I can sneak this into version 2.
Essentially it will make the zone half the area between the start of the open and the end of the close. I can’t do the whole bar area as then things behind can not be selected.
Hopefully, that will be better.
All the best
