Zoom - Option to anchor recent price bar

I use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom into a chart.

I am most interested in the recent price, and looking back (zooming in/out) from there.

Currently, the zoom function occurs on where the mouse cursor is located on the chart. This means that my cursor must always be at the far right hand side of the chart window before zooming in - which is not optimal as I will regularly be off a few bars. I then either need to zoom all the way out and try again, or click and drag the chart from right to left (and then typically zoom out a little again, which means I need to go back to the far right hand side again and redo the zoom out operation, and or drag from right to left again).

It would be useful to have a feature that anchors the latest price bar, and any zoom in/out will hold that bar visible whilst including/excluding historical price bars.

Whilst it is still useful to zoom historically, this is more the exception, and far more common to zoom in/out from the recent bar.

(… from a coding perspective, there might be an option to enable the mouse scroll wheel to instead manipulate the History Slider’s highlight box left hand side to increase/decrease the chart’s compression.)

Hi Guys,

While I agree Simon’s suggestion would be useful as an option, I disagree with his statement “Whilst it is still useful to zoom historically, this is more the exception, and far more common…” [Emplasis added] as I use the zooming at cursor location historially much much more frequently than at the last bar.

Place your cursor in the shaded area of the History Slider and your cursor will change to four arrows. Double-click and the chart will instantly return to the last bar:

Thanks Darren. This is a useful solution to reset when I use the mouse scroll wheel before the most recent bar mistakenly - and then redo the operation.

Ultimately, it would be good to have an option to adjust the chart compression with the mouse scroll wheel (e.g. mouse scroll wheel zooms in/out on bar where mouse cursor is (as normal). Ctrl+mouse scroll wheel would zoom in/out the chart compression regardless of where the mouse cursor is (as an alternative).
