EDF Loading Warning x435

Hi,

I tried to load an Excel file with the External Data Fields tool but got the following error message:

EDF Loading Warning x435
More than 50% of codes not
loaded from C:.…

On the screenshot below you can see that I got the column header “DAX Weight” from the Excel file but no data.

Any suggestion how to solve the issue?

Thanks,
Thomas

P.S.: I was not able to upload the Excel file.

Hi Thomas,

It looks like the symbols in your list might not match ours which is why they can’t be loaded. Have you used this Excel list before? Does it work if you save it as a .csv file and import the EDFs from there?

If not, send the file to support and we’ll take a look.

Hi Darren,

Thank you again. I have solved the problem.

The problem was the ticker symbols. It is necessary to use the complete ticker symbols with the database extension.

The database from which the stocks are is the “Major Euro Equities” database. Therefore, the complete ticker symbol for “AIR” (Airbus SE) is “AIR.GR:MajorEuro”.

Using only “AIR” does not work.

Here is the screenshot with the csv formatted file:

It doesn’t matter whether you use a csv file or a normal Excel file with the extension “xlsx”. As I work a lot with csv files, I also use a csv file for the “External Data Fields”.

Using a csv file and only using the ticker symbols without the database extension did not work either. The error message was “EDF Loading Warning x702”.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you clearly emphasize on the following web pages that it is absolutely necessary to use the complete ticker symbols with the database extension when working with the “External data fields” tool.

Updating some screenshots on these web pages would be perhaps also helpful.

Thomas
