The Gann Day Count (GDC) tool is great, but I have one niggle with it.
That niggle is the blank space between the Date and the count labels at the last bar. The yellow rectangles on the following screenshot highlight the issue:
The issue makes for a very confusing indication as can be seen with the 2 GDCs at the bottom of the above screenshot, not to mention that the label for each GDC takes up more space than is necessary.
Whilst on the subject of the GDC, is it possible to display future dates? For example, if I display a 30 day count from a given date in the past, the GDC stops at the current bar and shows the number of days from the start. It would be very useful if it could continue into the future so one can see the date that is 90/180/360 days/weeks/months/bars on from the start date.
Hi Mathew - one additional comment here when looking at longer time periods… is there any way that the GDC labels can line up with the vertical lines more precisely, even if the label size reduces? The example attached appears to illustrate that not all dates get a label if room doesn’t permit. Also the option to reposition the label might help as the label often gets lost when reducing the number of bars displayed as the label position appear to be linked to the GDC start price (that said the vertical GDC lines can be moused over for the day/bar count information). Not sure if possible but thought I’d ask.
Thanks
Andrew
To avoid clutter on the chart would it be possible to add an option for this tool where the user can define how many count repeats are visible ?
At present if, for example I define a 100 day count , the tool will display 100 days from the start date and then 200 days from the start date and then 300 days from the start date etc. It would be super to be able to define the number of repeats as in some cases I am only interested in the first repeat being displayed and on other occasions the first three repeats being displayed. The astro equivalent would be a brilliant addition also.
Apologies if I am overlooking an option that already allows me to do this?
We should be able to add that. The part I always struggle with is finding a simple interface to switch between All repeats and a defined number. To be completely flexible it needs to be a two-step process: 1. Switch from Auto to Defined, 2. Set the number. I’ve always tried to avoid that as it is not intuitive.
