Hello team,
I’d like to request some added functionality to either the Market Profile tool and/or the Volume at Price tool:
For the Market Profile tool:
-
Make available a trailing lookback period in the tool’s settings (similar to the Trailing Linear Regression tool), which hopefully could “automatize” plotting this tool on charts (compared to needing manual mouse clicks for applying an MP on charts, and then needing to adjust that selection when new data comes in). For instance, if my layout is set to display 50 bars and 5 blank bars of empty space, that’d be 45 bars visible. The Trailing MP could then be set to calculate & plot on 45 bars, so the distribution covers my exact chart space.
-
Allow such an automatized version to be included and saved within a Global Layout.
Alternatively, the Sequential Market Profile tool could potentially achieve similar results. However, it’s way too heavy for using with a watchlist (even with good hardware specs). The SMP seems to calculate so many historical periods that it makes the program freeze & crash when I move from one item to the next in a watchlist. If one could choose to calculate the SMP (with volume) for a maximum number of lookback periods (say, 10 periods), that would ease the calculation surely!
For the Volume at Price tool:
- The tool works & looks great, but I’d really love the possibility of using volume as input instead of prices. Is this feasible to develop at some point? (Volume at price would seem to indicate a volume-based calculation, see some alternative sites e.g., StockCharts: https://chartschool.stockcharts.com/table-of-contents/technical-indicators-and-overlays/technical-overlays/volume-by-price)
Kind regards,
Nik
