Hello guys, First, I would like to thank Optuma for one of the most powerful buy signals using the Optex band. You guys should be using it on a daily basis as well. This is the SPX500 Cash Index, and I have made some huge profits based on these signals alone. Just look at the upside on the daily chart since the signal was triggered. Sometimes you just like to keep your technical skills simple. Good luck, and I hope it helps everyone make great trades in the near future.
I have been using this signal on multiple securities and getting amazing results. I am not sure if I really want to keep Dvan signals now
ETF has much better return over stocks on this signal.
I spent some time years ago reading a book (I assume there may have been only one) on Market Profile by Peter Steidlmayer. I must admit it took my head on a merry spin but I finally got the gist of it after committed study. He must have been a very bright chap to be able to visualise price behaviour in the particular way that led to his ideas.
It is great to see the advances on this idea that Mathew has devised.
For some time I have been trying to get more value out of an old idea, Point and Figure charting (over 100 years old). I took the MSFT chart Mathew uses in his explanation of Optex bands and overlaid a weekly P&F chart. I found that the P&F chart picks the change even earlier than Optex nearly all the time with considerable reliability. However, the box size must be optimised to around 0.01 x price (you have to keep checking the box size on the Optuma P&F charts, which is a bit of a drag).
I am now using P&F analysis in all my search scans as the initial principle filter, then add other tools for fine tuning. I also use it as an excellent exit indicator when it is wonderful at conserving profit. The exit signal often occurs before price falls to the level of any other stop loss indicator (e.g. ATR x 2).
I am becoming very confident with it after a lot of real time paper trading. Using this sytem it is very unusual to make a losing trade, but I admit, I don’t always make a lot of profit on any single trade.
