Scanning for uptrend

Hi All

This is my first time posting to the forum and I’d appreciate some help with scripting please. I trade on a weekly basis. I want to scan for stocks in the ASX300 that are in a long term uptrend (and then apply other tools). I have tried Close()>MA(Bars=50, style=exponential), but I get a lot of stocks that have been in a downtrend and just crossed over. Is there a way to scan for long term up trending stocks? I can not find an answer searching thru the forum and knowledge base.

Hi,

It depends on what you class as a long term up trend. It needs to be classified in criteria / rules that can be scripted.

For example, the close has to be higher than the 50MA for 10 days in a row, etc.

If you can specify the rules you use to define a long term up trend we can provide some scripting examples to reference.
