I’d like to see an option under the properties for the Volatility Swing Overlay where one could rename the swings from “1,2,3 etc.” to another designation- for example “(I), (II), (III) etc.”
Thanks,

Good day, would anyone be able to tell me how the default labels on the Volatility Swing Overlay work? In particular I don’t understand how the numbering changes. Sometimes it continues to 7 and and other occasions starts again after 1 or 2. Also what do the F-n numbers indicate?
If anyone can assist me I would ne most grateful.
Kind regards
Steve
Hi Steve,
Mathew did a great article on this but it doesn’t seem to have come across to the new website.
Google Michael Gur - The Symmetry Wave Trading Method which should give some further information.
F-n numbers are “failed” swings and P-n numbers are “potential” swings.
If a Trend Wave FAILS to extend past the last Trend Wave swing, it is called a “Failed” swing and gets an “F” prefix, then it’s the start of a new number sequence in the opposite direction.
When a trend swing reaches the required ATR measure to change direction, but may not yet have passed the previous trend swing, it is called a “Potential” Swing.
